Default rear window brake light

how do you change the bulbs? I am getting a brake light on my dash screen and I checked it out and my rear window isn't coming on.

Dunno what year you have, but on mine, its easy. If you sit in the back seat and look on the back deck, you'll see the little grey thingy that the 3rd brake light bulb is in. On either side there are little patches with a raised pattern on them, about the size of a thumb print. grab the grey thing with your thumb on one and index finger on the other and yank that SOB outta the way. (don't be afraid to pull on him fairly hard, he doesn't wanna come out w/o a fight) from there you'll be able to get to the bulb. as for what to replace it with, you've gonna have to look that one up. GL!

you tell 'em CCA4. don't be afraid to smack these girls around and keep 'em in line. Just remeber to treat them like a woman.... always finesse, never force.

Lol treat your third brake light cover like you treat a woman is the best advice I've heard today.

"Brake Light" warning should be coming from one of the two brake lights you have, not the third. I believe the computer does not detect the third brake light on the B5.

Did you notice that lil honda has gas doors on both sides?^ lol. But thats a good point I never thought of that. I'd check the other two brake lights and make sure they aren't out as well.

My brake light warning always turns on when I drive and I always figured it was the window brake light. The thing is, the previous owner had the oem spoiler installed and they used the wiring and stuff to make the spoiler brake light go instead. The two brake lights are fine.

Probably. I tried to fix the window brake light, but I'd need to get all new wiring. No need to fix it other than to shut the warning up.
