Default Removal

I was wondering what are the things that could be removed under the hood that aren't really essential. I was thinking about removing the headlights washers and well anything else down around there to clean it up a lil. Making some room room for a fmic.

Depending on where you live and how stringent the inspection/emissions requirements are there, there's plenty that can get the heave-ho. You will have to get some CEL's coded out though...

^ What he said.

You really don't have to clear anything out for a FMIC. You will need to shave some parts of your bumper for the FMIC to fit tho.

It's not just for the fmic but mainly for the more organized look if possible. But I would like to lose some weight. One question though how much do our cars really weigh? I have a sticker on the door that says 4334 pounds I don't know if that's how much it really weighs or not.

I think 4334 is the GVWR (gross vehicle weight rating), which is the maximum weight the car can handle. ISTR the "wet" weight (car + fluids) of my car (w/auto & quattro) is around 3400 lbs. A FWD car with a manual would prolly be a couple hundred less.

Ok thanks I really thought she weighed 2 tons for awhile there. So give or take 3300 lbs maybe its a 1.8tqm. So is there any write ups on removing some components? I looked on Audidiy but didn't find anything
