Removing 2001 A4 Dash

Hey guys! I am new to your forum and look forward to learning more about my car! I have a 2001 A4 1.8T. Anyway, I am having the same problem with my turn signal as many others. They flash once and then go out. The hazards work fine. So I deduced that it is a bad electronic flasher (I hope) and got the part (EP36). Now I can't figure out how to get into the dash below the steering wheel where all these relays are located. There doesn't seem to be any bolts or anything holding it in place and it won't budge. I don't want to break it obviously. Does anyone know how to get in there?

i am not sure about this but you might have to open the door and remove the side panel. there might be something holding it together

Ok so now I got the panel off, but I can't figure out which relay this replaces. Anyone have a handy schematic or know how to ID it?

you 100% sure it isn't the flasher relay? those are usually what bum out. they house both the hazards and the blinkers. i made a d.i.y., video of mine and it worked wonders but some people are not having the same results.

I am pretty sure. My thinking is that since the hazards work, the hazard relay should be ok, right? Perhaps not? I will try what you did on the video and see how it works.

So I tried what was demo'ed in the video, and it didn't work. Then my hazards stopped working. I ordered a new switch and it came today. Put it in and nothing.... Now I am totally stumped on what is wrong.

That's a cool idea, but I have a new hazard switch and it is not working... I am thinking I have a different problem.
