ok i have a 1996 audi a4 2.8l i have removed the glovebox no problem and unscrewed the blower motor but cant pull it out because of this metal brace mounted above it how can i go about removing that? and what it is it needed for seems like theres no reason for it? to be there any suggestions highly appreciated.

can you post a picture? I'm not sure what you are talking about. when I did my A6 the whole thing came out, no problem.

 

there should be 3 12mm bolts that hold it on. its a support mount. it really easy to take off. then it should come out with no prblem

 

ok got it out finally it was 4 bolts i had to take out thanks for the help guys and ill post pics up as soon as my new blower ships in for anyone who needs the future reference.
