What do you even gain from using a cone filter anyways? Other than ease of accessing the filter.

Nothing, louder turbo spool and easy access. Adds 0 hp and in most cases when done wrong you actually lose hp

Don't just look at the negatives if any. You gain
Louder turbo
More appealing to look at
The blow off (if installed) is more audible as the airbox muffles the sound
Throttle response is slightly better.

I noticed no change in car performance after the install so yeah I'd say its worth the mod for such a small price, just buy a filter and your set.

U say u loose power but my buddy manages 034Motorsports here where i live i gained 5 hp dyno proven... Obvoiusly did it with the stock airbox off to the cone filter and yeah it sounds way better turbo spool and such along with the diverter valve sounds nice... I wouldnt think is gain much.. But i did.. And i see if you installed your "cone filter" setup up wrong i can see you losing power.

I would love to see those dyno graphs as no aftermarket intake on a stock turbo has ever shown over a 1 or 2 hp increase. And I said when done incorrectly (ie most of the time) you lose power. I have a Carbonio which is more or less a cone filter, did I gain power? Not that I noticed. Did I lose power? Nope because its a $350 aftermarket intake, you lose power when you do it incorrectly like I've already said.

Please read my statement before trying to make me look like an idiot, because it didnt work. Only way he gained 5 hp is another upgrade, not just a cone filter.

5hp on a chassis dyno is well within the margin of error. There are a million different factors that could've contributed to the difference, even if the runs were done back to back under the same conditions. Fact is the stock airbox is really well designed, a cone filter is purely for looks/sound, there's no performance benefit. I swear I've even seen dyno sheets comparing the stock airbox to a cone filter setup on a frankenturbo, there was little to no difference.

No need to be arguing here, I will add a small pipe/hose before the maf as madcow has suggested. I have also ordered a turbo inlet hose, I plan to change my blow off and divert some air back in a hybrid setup.
