So I have a pretty loud clicking noise occuring in the front of my car whenever I turn and accelerate at the same time. I am pretty positive it is my CV joint. I was wondering if it's cheaper to get a new CV Joint or just get a new front axle. Also if I get a CV joint I have no idea if it's "inner" or "outer"

usually always better, cheaper, and easier to replace the whole axle especially if you can find one in a junkyard, even then, you can buy them new pretty cheap.

Alright thanks! I'll take a check into both your ideas. I'm not sure if I need both Left and Right but the sound occurs when I turn both ways does that mean I need a left and a right one? Sorry Car Newbie!

better to just replace both so you don't have uneven wear/use

 

yea...I would replace both...there would more than likely be more wear on the old one when you replace with a new one leading to faster failure of the old side

 

Just bought both front right and left axels from purems.com, that way you have brand new ones, and don't have to worry about repacking those boots with grease and what not. I got them for $250 shipped.
