Default Resonator delete help

My stock exhaust broke at the resonator weld (away from muffler) on Friday while taking off from a stop sign. I removed the pipe that goes from the flex pipe to the break at the resonator so it wasn't hanging down and I can drive it. It's so ridiculously loud and terrible sounding and I need to get it fixed before I pass out from the fumes and drive off the road.

I don't have the money yet to replace the whole system, so I'm looking for a cheap and quick fix that will do the job for now. I was considering, taking out the resonator, using clamps and running a straight pipe to the muffler.

I was wondering if anyone has done this and has advice or suggestions.

It sounds totally and completely like crap. It sounds like a Honda. I did it to my car thinking it would sound better but ended up reinstalling the resonator. Now if u add a muffler like a magnaflow qfter the res delete then that sounds pretty good, or so I have heard

I know it sounds horrible. I'm not doing it because I like the sound. I am looking to do it as a repair for the time being. The pipe is completely broken at the resonator. How did you go about doing it when you removed it?

Yeah I'll probably just buy a couple of clamps to attach it because I don't have a welder. If I did, I would just try and weld it myself. Where did you pick up a pipe to replace the resonator, and do you remember about how long it was?

I don't remember exactly what it was but mine would be different anywayscus mine is cut about an inch away from the resonator on either side. But ironically I got it from a local muffler shop, I know a guy there.

Cool thanks, so it's do-able. Just need to get the air flowing from underneath my feet to the back of the car again until I can replace the whole system.

If anyone has other suggestions feel free to weigh in. I might go to a local welder and see if they can tack it back on, it's pretty rusty so I don't know if they'll be able to do it.
