Running in a SCCA solo event in Detroit, need ideas...
Monday I am going to take my daily driver audi to a SCCA Solo event in Detroit.
I only have a cone airfilter and 18's on my 115k mile car. Non sport suspension, damnit. I will be changing my plugs (probably to normal NGK's) but that is my only intention at the moment.
Anyone have any ideas to prep the A4 for doing a road course race?

I ran a solo event a couple months ago in my 2.8 with coilovers. I did NOT have an alignment set up and it killed me. Go to an alignment shop, have them set up your car for turn in and it will help your times a lot more than an air filter or plugs. Just not too radical, toe can eat up tires, youve been warned.

ya have a little toe in the front and some camber in the rear. i'm currently running 18s with the front wheels straight and the rear wheels with kinda ridiculous camber but not intentionally. i gotta say the response is awesome. also you should get yourself a set of s4 suspension. s4 rear sway bar and x drilled brakes help too. also you probably won't go past 3rd and will be in 2nd most of the time so keep the right foot flexible. also prep yourself, get a good night sleep and plenty of water the next day. it's usually pretty hot by the course. good luck
forgot to add, don't fill your tank full, just put in 1/4 tank and carry some with you. and use 93. also take stuff outta your car like the spare tire and rear seats. every little thing counts. if you're hardcore take out the door panels too lol
