Default Sad but I want some fun

I have posted my Audi on craigslist this morning eventhough it is in perfect running condition and it hasn't given me any problems in the past. I would like to get a small truck or an suv to go off roading. Just hoping to get at least 5k for it since all of the major maintenance has been done within the last 5k miles or so. What do you guys recommend as an off roaring daily driver that has 4wd and a manual tranny?

My brother has a Jeep wrangler and loves it. The 4.0L straight six is bullet proof and a snap to work on and parts are dirt cheap.

wranglers are nice, my best friends got one, but be prepared to get raped on gas. he has a 15? gallon tank, and gets 200 miles to a tank if he's lucky. Hoe called me when he got 14 mpg are you looking for a ffamily mover, or just a man toy?

I have a 76 F100 and I love it. I go places in my stock F100 that a stock wrangler would never even have a chance of going. I can also fit 33/12.50s with no lift. I am not trying to down Wranglers because with a nice lift and some good mud tires they are great but I will stick with my Ford.

Love me some 4runner.

If you're looking at Tacomas, make SURE you check out the frame just forward of the rear wheels before you buy one. A buddy of mine from home (and apparently many thousands of other taco owners) had the frames rust out from under them. I'm sure if you google it you'll be able to find some threads on the topic.

Grocery getter! The quattro will go deeper in the woods than that. If I had to pick one from that list of bad off road vehicles I would go with a 4 runner. At least you can get a manual and have the option of a locking rear diff if you get a fully loaded one.
