how much is it to change the timing belt with parts and labor??? my car has 133,XXX and i also in the same boat bought my car when it had 129,XXX i been driving it since with no problems except for one of the upper control arms which i know they always go out, but i can do that myself but i heard the time belt was a BiTCh to change??

crap im having this same problem! i bought my car with 99k mi. the previous owner told me all maintenance was done and that the owner before him who was some old person had probably done everything to it already! becuase he only had it for a year! its now at 104k and havent really had a problem with the car! except for my valve cover gaskets leaking a little... so let me know how this goes!

there is a thread somewhere that might be dead by now with a guy who works at a dealership that will look up VINs for you and look up all maintenance done to the car from the moment it hit the line. look for that.. if not then get real offensive to the little dealership dork that wouldnt give you info over the phone.. you'd probably have better luck heading down to a dealership- they can look up anything (regardless of owner/prior owners) done to that car in their computers, dont let them lie to you.

Yes, service position ftw, but there are a few angles where you are wrenching that you can't see directly by doing it in that position. You sort of have to know where the bolts are as you squeeze your arms down there. For a first timer Id say take the whole front end off like the article says to get familiar with the orientation of everything. It doesn't take that much longer, right?
