Selling the A4 Monday
 

Well, I wasn't going to sell it, my wife keeps telling me to keep it. I'm still not sure if I wanna sell it. It has 132,*** on it and runs awesome, never had a problem with it. Recently though, the rear wheel bearings have been humming, the wiper switch broke (2 year old son snapped it off) The windshield cracked from a freeze we had a couple months ago. I've had an oil leak from the lower pan that won't go away no matter what I do, and I've had a clunk that just won't go away, even with all the mods done to it. It needs the 2 rear o2's, timing belt done, and the abs module is shot and the airbag light is on. I put an ad up on craigslist a week ago and I an email a few days later. The lady LOVED the look of the car and wanted to check it out. Her and her boyfriend looked at it yesterday and she fell in love. She wasn't out of 1st when she started giggeling and said she wanted it. She couldn't decide wether she wanted the 18's and the stock wheels with snow tires or just the 8's, or just the 16's. I was asking $7,000 for everything. They alled back today and offered me $6,000 for it. I said yes but only with 1 set of wheels. So they're picking it up on Monday, still deciding which wheels she wants. Did I make the right decision? I did just buy the S4 so...

that's a good looking car, well done. but that list of problems you wrote is expensive. she realize what she's getting herself into? (i sure hope so)

Yeah. I went over everything with her. She is a flight attendant and it gone 2 weeks a month. She wants it for a winter car. She has a cabriolet too. It's a great car and runs and drives excellent but...

good job on the sale, you'll need the money for s4 repairs :)

If you want to sweeten the deal for her and maybe get a few more dollars out of the sale (plus foster some goodwill), I have two spare wiper stalks, both from 98+ cars with the selectable delay. PM me if you're interested.

I wouldve sold it too. specially with the S4

sell it for sure...between your list of problems and maintenance, it sounds like it's about time to part with it....especially now that you have the S4!

It's an awesome car and I will definatley hate to see it go but, I just don't want to put any money into it right now. I have 5 cars so this will be a good down to go with the trade in on my Tahoe for a new 4runner fo the wife. My wife knows I love the car and keeps telling me to keep it but the S is so much fun. The A4 is too though with the 5 speed and suspension.

Looks great, but it sounds like it's time for it to go.

I'd say keep it if it was a 1.8T, but it's a 2.8 --- Sell it fast.
Keep the 18"s, and give her the car with the 16"s -- tell her they have better "winter" traction since she wants it for a winter car. It's more expensive to buy winter tires in 18", so tell her that too. Then you can easily sell the 18"s on craigslist seperately, or keep them for your next A4/S4
