Default Should I buy a 1998 Audi Cabriolet?

One of the things that bothers me is after doing a search for the car used on many sites I do not see many for sale over 140,000 miles. The car in question has 135k.

I understand there is some reliability issues of which I need help to understand. Some reviews are good, some not so good. I'm willing to do maintenance and repairs of course but within reason. What can I expect?
What should I look for when I look at the car and the owners receipts of which he claims he has since he bought the car 5 years ago. Will the car reach 200,000 miles if I take care of it?

The car:

It does have a rebuilt tranny which always seems to go at 100k on this model according to my research.

In addition, what is a fair price for both parties.

Thanks,

Keith
