I bought some from Home Depot for around $5 I believe....It wasn't very expensive at all.

I did this: lots and lots of prep, like 2 hours. Sand sand sand. Then get your plastic adhesion promoter. After a few coats of that, get out your paint (matte black for me) and put five or six light coats on. Then get out your clear coat (matte gloss for me) and follow instructions. I put on about four coats i think.
Drive on gravel every day, no chips!
Plasti-dip should work great too. Its pretty much rubberized plastic in a can.

Might be a west coast/ east coast thing.....my grille has no chips, but my surround looks like ****. I even followed your regime to the "T" and still.....chipping. I'm going to do the Plasti-Dip and if that doesn't work, then it looks like I'll always have a project to doOriginally Posted by kayakman13

I'm running the RS4 outer surround (silver and rougher/more aggressive cuts) instead of the chrome rounded outer that came stock. I'm running the stock grilles as it matches my bottom grilles.
