side molding
if you're just going put a new one on, then rip off the old one and grab the chunk that's left at the screw with some pliers and then try the screw. there's no use trying to save a part that you'll just throw away anyhow. you should spray some blaster on there first to get all the help you can because that brass nut inside the trim WILL be corroded.
umm sorry for not knowing, but what exactly is "blaster"? can you post a link to where i can buy this because now my other side molding is literally chipping off and the screw WILL NOT BUDGE. N I stll got the other screw hangin on the other side. HELPPP
it is PB BLASTER. it is a penetrating lubricant. you can pick it up at any auto parts place worth a crap. it's been a while since I bought some but i think it was about $5. white can, yellow cap and tons of writing on the can.
i just took my trim off and it was doing the same thing. what i did was just cut off the old trim, and the little square that will be left where the screw is, i took a pliers and just twisted and pulled it off. if its rusted, all that will be left is the nut on the outside and the screw on the inside. just put a wrench on the outside to hold the nut from spinning and unscrew from the inside and it should come right off
alright dude, dremel the bastard off then. go from the outside and grind the hell out of that nut then pick the scraps away with needle nosed pliers every once in a while. that damn piece of plastic and brass is not smarter than you. give it hell.
okay while I was painting the side skirts I was looking around and realized there is no way to take off the molding I wanted to. So i went back to trying to get the one off of the door and I was alittle hesitant. The screw in the door just turns and makes no progress so I was just gonna rip them off but I dont wanna scratch the paint. How likely is that to happen?
