Simple Question
I didn't do oil changes myself in last 5 years because my landlords didn't allow it. Now I bought a house and will be able to do it myself.
I am wondering how do you guys dispose off your used oil? If anybody from Chicago NW burbs, a name of the place that accepts the used oil would be great. Thanks. |
i think that the gulf is a good place to toss it now... what another 1 gallon gonna do?!?!
jk, but wal mart (atleast mine does) |
^Lol.
I go to Kragen to dump my oil. |
Award for best joke of the day goes to flynnr!
We wait and fill 55g drums and a place pays us for it once it's filled. |
if you want it gone garages may take it or find a place that does oil undercoating
|
I usually fill up a large old container and bring that stuff to the town dump. Although, I know that some people burn it for heat and they will be happy to take it.

I am 99% sure that it is a law that any place that sells oil has to accept used oil. I just take mine to the local AutoZone and they have a tank in the back that you dump everything in. It's simple, it's easy, it's painless. And changing your own oil is so rewarding compared to going somewhere to have it done. I know, it's so simple, takes all of 15 minutes, but I love doing anything with my car, including the simple maintenance.
flynnr- yeah, great joke. I got some strange looks at work because I literally LOL'd. |
I know that the waste disposal facility in my town has an area that accepts used oil.
