Sluggish Acceleration 1.8T Tip
I have read the old posts on sluggish off the line performance with 1.8T Tiptronic
I have a 99.5 1.8T with 95K miles on it. Timing belt changed at 80K.
I recently purchased a 2004 B6 1.8T tiptronic. I know the factory boosted HP, but Damn that thing is a Rocket compared to the 99.5
With the current fuel pricing I am reluctant to Chip it (for my teen driver). But is there some degraded MAF or plugged Catalyst that could be causing issues?
I have the Later improved Dump Valve, but haven't messed with the N75 or other components. The car has been like this from day one. It has sport steering with shifter switches.. It really comes alive at higher revs,
I just cant believe that the 150 Hp vs the 180 would come in and improve throttle response down low.
Any hints to diagnose?
Do I go to the Chicago Revo Chip dealer for an assessment?? My local shop only feels the new ones are much improved, and wont admit fault with the 99
