Question So what is the best intake for 2.8L 30V

I know ebay has some, also K&N and some other tuning company has some but which one is the best way to go?

I'm just f*ckin with ya

There are really a few main choices here:

-You could pick up a cone filter and some aluminum tube at any auto parts store and DIY (what i'd recommend)

-You could buy a pre-fab one on e-bay. Lots of people (including me) have done it with no problems

-You could pay way to much for a Carbonio and then post up later about how its not worth the money.

No such thing as a "best" intake for these cars. The concensus on them is that you gain no power. The stock airbox has been proven to flow more than enough air, even on a modded 1.8T, let alone a naturally aspirated V6 model. I have a cone intake and I'm happy to have it - it sounds better than stock, especially above 4000 RPM, and I never have to buy another filter. In that respect, it's a good one.

That's what I'm going for is the better sound in upper RPM. So I should just get a off brand / eBay or go out to auto store and get a cone and pipe.

You may laugh at this but a friend made his own with a short pipe section, a 5" shower drain, and a generic mushroom filter, and it is wicked sounding. All I can think is that tge 5" section acts as a resonating chamber because where mine isn't distinctly audible until 4000RPM, his is more like 2500 and it's two or three times louder. Full throttle and up higher in the rev range it's really vicious sounding, to the point that I may build one as well - it sounds that good.
