So what is the best intake for 2.8L 30V

Lol yeah it did. He emailed me the pics. When I get home I'll upload them - pretty sure it was to gain clearance over the cylinder head and to adapt the cone to the pipe. The sound was a nice side benefit that wasn't anticipated. I'm going to throw it on my car to see if the sound comes on as quickly as in his car. His is a tip and mine is manual and I don't know whether the manual cams are different than the tip cams - if the lobe profiles are different it'll change the airflow-vs-RPM characteristics of the engine. That would account for a difference in when the sound gets loud, even though the volume should be the same...eventually.

OK, here's a few pics of the setup. I'll be building one soon as well and will try and get video clips of the sound on a fly-by (unless I get a chance to do so with his car beforehand). I plan to paint the drain portion though so it blends better into the engine bay, rather than leaving the PVC look to it (he also plans to paint it too). I know Hiwords has heard the intake too and can vouch for how much louder than a typical cone it is, as well as how much sooner the sound comes on.

I'll write up everything as I build mine. I have the pics saved on my PC so I'll set up with imageshack or something like that to host bigger pics. Unfortunately I can only link to the thumbnails on Flickr. I'll host the full-sizers shortly and repost them.

Creativity at its best! I was looking at adding an intake do to wanting a little more "Sound" but was worried above throwing CELs do to all the wires hooked up to the stock intake. I figured they were there for a reason! So will you throw CELs or am I just paranoid?
