Default Sprung vs Unsprung hub clutch

I just bought a Stage 2 Southbend clutch kit (Full face/unsprung). I have to replace both the clutch/pressure plate and the flywheel. I'm planning to get a lightweight flywheel soon but I was wondering if it will work with a lightweight flywheel. I bought the kit from Kinetic Motorsport and I don't know if I bought the wrong item or not. On AWE's site, it says it's for OEM flywheel (dual mass) only. And lastquestion...What the difference with the sprung hub vs. unsprung?

on their site, they list clutches made for a lwfw seperate from those that use the dualmass. and i couldn't even find a place where they offered sprung vs unsprung. it seems they're all sprung. normally it shouldn't matter whether its sprung or not, but a unsprung disc w/ a lwfw might cause some serious tranny vibrations. i would call southbend up and ask them since they list it on their site seperately

for your last question, sprung means there are springs in the face of the clutch. they help absorb crank vibrations from entering the tranny

why the hell would you by an unsprung clutch for a street car? Its best to replace that with a sprung asap otherwise you will hate life

I wanted to buy a sprung disc but on the stupid website of Kineticmotorsport.com didn't say anything. It shows a sprung hub but I recieved and unsprung. All it said was Stage 2..."Eff'in" bastards...

i would get a sprung disc and use a lwfw. i don't know how bad the crank vibrates in a 4cyl but my buddy used one in his 5.0 mustang and i hated driving in his car. shifting is FAR from smooth

and if you talk to Andrei over on audizine, (his name is slayerrule) he gives 10% discounts on clutch and flywheels directly from Southbend. so see if you can just get a refund and buy it from him. thats where i got my stage 5 and lwfw

The sprung disc has nothing to do with the fw. You can run either. But the engagement on the unspring will be harsh at best

I suppose it just depends on how much pedal pressure and engagement you can handle. I personally have no problems with an unsprung, but I am a bigger guy, so it does not bother me.

Ok, so I called Kineticmotorsport (where I bought the kit from),that I want to exchange the disc and he has no control over online order so i would have to email them instead (f#@kin bullcrap). The guy on the phone told me that he has a single mass flywheel on his gti and that **** makes his tranny sound pretty loud. Is this true with lightweight flywheels?
