Stern Snub Mount

So I just did the timing belt and I replaced my mount (which was in great shape), with a Stern. I was hoping I would notice a difference, but I dont at all, shifting is the same, shifter movement on/off throttle is the same... Do I need a new snub surround too or what?

did you check the rest of the engine mounts? could be that the other mounts are in such bad shape that you can't notice the improvement from Stern?

I gave them a once over, the engine doesnt really move too much. Its hard to tell cause they have that rubber cover, should i just get under there and try and lift that rubber cover up. I also heard they will leak if they are bad, dont know if thats true?

Did you install correctly? I put on an APR snub and I feel more positive shift engagement and it seems like more power hits the road. (i.e. when I punch it on gravel I start to lose traction.)

Well I thought I did, i read that writeup on audizine and it didnt seem like there was much to it, i just slid it on as far as the old one was and thats about it.. I didnt have a vibration at idle so i didnt adjust the bracket.

sounds right. Who knows? I dont think you'll see a huge difference though.

Not going to notice a big difference if your stock one was good.

Upgrading the engine/transmission mounts will really tighten up the driveline. If you dont want too much vibration its best to upgrade the engine mounts, passenger side transmission mount and leave your driver side transmission mount OEM. Since you have the Stern snub, you can go Stern Motor mount (soft) and Stern Passenger side transmission mount.

Good to know, thanks Mike.
