I have a 99 a4 1.8t and i've asked around and looked on sites but just wanted to make sure what my stock power is. Is it the 150hp or the 170hp motor?

 

150... you could have checked edmunds or just searched

2001+ is 170 hp.

 

I got on edmunds, cause thats what i always use and thats what it said but i wasnt sure cause i called Auto Assets, a local german performance/maintenance and the one guy thought at 99.5 it went to the 170hp and a couple other ppl i asked said 170hp too but we werent positive

 

I've been to auto assets a lot. I have come to realize that they do not know Audi's very well. You either talked to Chip or Matt. Matt has a serious attitude problem and terrible Audi/vw specific knowledge. Unless he is ordering parts over the phone, he is useless. Chip is real friendly but seems to lack hands on experience. Half the time I have to talk to their technicians to get a confident answer when I had questions. The only money reason I went there is because they are the closest GIAC dealer.. So yeah, I don't recommend that place for anything else. If you ever need parts, PAP-Parts is right down that service road next to Auto Assets on the right. They have unbeatable prices on a lot of stuff, and stock a lot of things that you'd expect to get from the dealer only.
