Strange light on in dash

Anyone have any tips on how to tell what a yellow light in my dash means. Well first off my gauge bazel is screwed up (like many others) and I can't make out what the symbol is. Is there any other way to go about to determine what it means. Anyone know what all the symbols could be? I was able to eleminate windshild washer fluid because I know it's full and it's not the gas light. The light comes on as soon as I turn on the car. And after driving a while the car beeps. I am assuming it's something stupid because it's only a yellow light but I would like to figure out how to get rid of it. btw 01 A4 1.8t

Could be a brake pad wear indicator, bulb out, MIL warning... Check your front pads for wear and check your exterior lights.

or if its in the middle of your cluster, its probly the gas light lol

i have a 99 so we have different layouts, but its probably the break sensor, or could be oil pressure warning, but that should be red... pic would really help as im sure someone with an 01 could help

im thinking of one out of a dozen lights, its round and yellow and somewhere on the dash... GO!

sorry people are just going to be taking shots in the dark unless you give more info then that.

I think it might be the brake pads. Last time I had it inspected 4 months ago they said that my breaks pads were getting low. I will check that out and let you all know. Thanks..

Here is a pic. Hope it helps. Also got another question. Is it safe to add fuel additatives when I feel up. I tried starting my car today and it about a minute straight of cranking before it finally started. I am thinking I got some bad gas or something. I only use 93 premium(usually bp) but got it at sheets this time.
