supporting mods for ko4 upgrade

From what i understand the most important supporting mods would be the giac chip & a forge DV.

Would I need an IC, and if so which one should i get/?

Is a exhaust upgrade essential right away?

What other mods would you recommend? Be rather specific please as I have close to none experience in upgrading cars.

Thanks for any help

Ive read over the n00b guide so many times, but i am beyond new, what id really like is a sequencial list of upgrade i should get to my manual 99 b5, with the goal of putting in the ko4

Thanks again

Is the stoc clutch adequate for the added power?

From what i understand the most important supporting mods would be the giac chip & a forge DV. Good choices, but you will need fueling and maf based on the tune you get.

Would I need an IC, and if so which one should i get/? Yes, either a fmic or upgraded smic

Is a exhaust upgrade essential right away? All turbo cars need a larger exhaust 2.5-3"

What other mods would you recommend? Be rather specific please as I have close to none experience in upgrading cars. About all you will need is a clutch and spark plugs with a 7 heat range.

Honestly, a ko4 isnt worth it to most that install it. If you compare dynos with a ko3, you basically get a larger spike for 500rpms and the power will taper off the same. Not really worth the money spent. If i was you i would take that money and get the car chipped, fmicand full exhaust. This way you can have some power now and do it right. If you want more power, then you can decide on a resonable upgrade thats worth the money

Go get the Giac chip, the front mount intercooler & borla exhaust perhaps first off? Would you say thats the best way to go?

I just burned my clutch and put a new one on it? Is the factory clutch that bad?

Can the factory clutch can handle IC &Giac combined?

Id say its a good start. I have a K04 setup. Your clutch should be fine unless you BT

Would I need an IC, and if so which one should i get/? Yes, either a fmic or upgraded smic. you dont NEED one, but its a good idea. godspeed will be good enough

Is a exhaust upgrade essential right away? All turbo cars need a larger exhaust 2.5-3" again, not needed, but if you want better numbers, you should get one.

What other mods would you recommend? Be rather specific please as I have close to none experience in upgrading cars. About all you will need is a clutch and spark plugs with a 7 heat range. only need a clutch if you're launching it. if your state doesn't have emissions, you could get a testpipe.

Here is my K04 Setup and it runs fine + Im auto/tip.

Factory Side Mount (a fmic would be better though)
Cold Air Intake (not needed)
High Flow Cat + 2 1/2" Cat Back Exhaust (3" would be better)
Giac K04 File (although mines a custom file since they didn't make one for 00 auto/tip)
N75J valve (not needed)

And everything runs fine

To me an ideal set up would be:

FMIC
Intake
Turbo Back Exhaust (which Basically I have sine I have the high flow cat)
K04 Software
Bigger Injectors

The K04 is not going to do enough to really warrant having to go and upgrade EVERYTHING
