My tranny bit the dust and I'm trying to find a replacement. I need to know for certain if I need a tranny with the same code? For example I see tranny's from other 99's with a different code and some have said that they can be used. My local shop says even though
it will work, the ECU never recognizes it correctly flags the CEL and puts it into limp mode.
Even if you replace the TCU they have the same results. Does anyone have first hand experience with this????

I've only had it for two weeks so I don't have a clue.

You need to stick with the same trans code.
