Symphony Removal
Hi All -
A friend has an '01 B5 that we were in the process of replacing a heater core on. One of the steps is to remove the radio. Current problem is that with the OEM removal keys, the bottom left slot doesn't seem to engage when the key is inserted.
The question is whether or not we can insert all four keys, and add some pressure from behind the center console to help this thing out? With the passenger knee bolster and glove box out, we can see the rear section of the radio and what we believe to be the clips that hold the radio in place when the keys aren't present.
Has anyone come across this issue in the past?
Thanks in advance,
Steve

Yeah mine was like that too when I went to replace it. Just wiggle the keys around and they will eventually click or grab. If that doesn't work try and push it from the back with all 4 keys in but do it gently.
