It would have to be making under 350awhp which would be very low for a T3. At that power might as well have bought a Elim kit.

He's got an AEB, most tuning for that turbo will put him at or below 350awhp.

Don't worry, the turbo is just there to make pffffffssssshh sound between shifts. The bigger your turbo, the louder the noise...

I just had someone email me pics of bent rods out of his AEB, running a GT2871r on Ctapp tune.

I say props to Chris for the aggressive tune lol... But thats also a DBB turbo where the t3/t04 is a journal bearing... You obv know this, but the onset of torque is way more gradual and steady.

But that was on 93 octane tune and no way it was making 350+whp. lol

The tq on that turbo isn't going to be any harder or quicker then a K03 or K04, but you dont see those snapping many stock rods. lol

Actually T3 turbos can also be orderd as DBB, but then you should already know that too. :P

T3/T04E 50 trim is rated for 46 lb/min and 420whp

GT2871r is good for a max of 475chp which is about 370whp on a quattro.

Yes, but the torque is much greater out of a gt2871r than a k04, just because its onset isnt any faster doesnt mean there isnt alot more.

I do know that you can get a dbb chra for t3's, and I almost got one for my 50trim before I woke up and just got the 35r lol.

Those ratings are just about the extremes of the capabilities... i'd be very interested to see a dyno chart of a 50trim t3/to4 powered 058 or 06a A4 making 420awhp. I dont think there is one that exists Mike. By all means prove me wrong if so.

Well it wont since that 420whp is most likely on a FWD or RWD car that has nearly twice as much driveline loss. That number would be closer to 370whp on a quattro. Hey look the 50 trim and GT2871r are about equal in power. lol
