Default Thermostat going out?

Hey guys, so my car never warms up to past the first line and its the same deal with my oil temperature. I was thinking this is due to my thermostat being stuck open or just completely gone out. Is that right or no?

Should only need half a gallon of G12 mixed with half a gallon of water.

I just got my thermostat changed yesterday and mine was doing the same thing except it wouldn't warm up at all if I drove it. It warmed up one notch away from center when sitting still. All good now tho, I put a piece of card board in the slot by my radiator and that helped warm it a little bit

I just changed mine today, took about an hour. Here is a pic of after I installed it. Before the temperature needle would never get past the first line now it stays at the middle. Also, the oil temperature gauge is functioning now.

Did you do it yourself?
I read some DIY's on thermostat but they all seem to refer to a TB change..
Is there a way to just change the thermostat without having to go through all the mess of partially taking the front off.. OR, sorry for my ignorance..

I did do it myself. It took about an hour to do. I didn't come anywhere close to messing with the timing belt. First I removed the throttle body, next I removed the intake manifold brace, and unbolt the thermostat housing. Its really easy.
