Default Tie rod assembly recommendations

Greetings Everyone,

I've recently installed an H&R coilover kit on my 2001 A4 Avant 1.8T. Overall, I've been very happy with it. I did bring the car in for an alignment afterwards and learned that both front tie rod assemblies are seized. I was poking around the ECS Tuning site and they have a couple of different options.

For those of you that have replaced the full assembly, did you stick with OEM, go with a 3rd party, use the S4 tie rod assemblies, etc.? I like the idea of going with a 3rd party, but I'm hoping to get some advice from those that have already been down this road. Thanks!

if you can put up the cash for the meyhle (spelling?) full CA and TRE kit you wont be dissappointed... i used to blow through these all the time, especially control arms, but havent had a single issue since upgrading to the mehyle kit... saves you big time in the long run if you drive hard or have shitty roads in your area.

Most people just go with the heavy duty A4 aftermarket TRE's or the aftermarket S4 set which are a little more money.

Awesome. Thanks a ton guys. I appreciate the feedback. Fortunately I've never had problems with the control arms, and this is the first issue with the tie rods.
