There is an ATF kit on blauparts for $115, mechanics will charge ~$400. Anyone use the blauparts kit or would recommend another kit?

Thats the kit I used.

just double checking, is this the right one for a 99 a4 1.8tq tip?

Just make sure you know exactly what you need to do before you start to take things apart i.e. read the directions more than once. And most importantly, cleanliness is the top priority.
