Default Trying to get my VCDS-Lite to work.

Okay I can't get this program to work. I purchased this OBDII cable from ECS.
http://www.ecstuning.com/Search/VT1A0003/ES6928/

I downloaded driver software from this site and version 2.08.08.

http://www.ftdichip.com/Drivers/VCP.htm

I then downloaded VCDS-Lite release 1.1 which is at the bottom of this webpage.

http://www.ross-tech.com/vcds-lite/download/index.html

I extraced the files from the folder for the driver and installed and my computer recognized that it was a serial to USB converter.

When I run a auto scan it keeps running and opening new ports. So I closed the scanning and did the OBDII check and it gives me this error.

Car is NOT ISO/OBD-II Compatible! IF this car is a VW/Audi/Seat/Skoda Try SELECT > Individual Controllers.

I can't find this Individual Controllers option.

Anyone familar getting this program running because I am lost.

With that cable you'll need to find vagcom 409.1. Does it at least test properly in the options menu? With these cheap cables it's not plug and play, you gotta play with port settings and stuff.

what do you mean test properly? I was able to find the correct COM port and it acted like it was able to read the cable in that COM port. When I go to test it keeps searching for something and will got to a different number of a port or terminal or something.

32-bit or 64-bit Vista? Have you checked the device properties for the USB-serial converter device?
