Tunning Question

So....what do you guys recommend for a nice upgrade from the stock injectors? Also a step up FPR? And the last, an aftermarket fuel controller like a Super AFC? I found a nice intercooler upgrade on ebay, check it out

I think that will work nice:DIt leaves a lot of intercooler for a different front bumber when I get that.

Also found a nice turbo kit, check it out

I want to try and stay away from having to re-flash my ecu.

RE: Tunning Question

Well if you want to upgrade your turbo you are going to need new programing to take advantage of it.

As for the new fuel injectors you will need tuning for that as well and if you don't have a turbo upgrade it's pointless to do it. The injectors you want will depend on what turbo you get. As for a Adjustable FPR, I have the 034 Motorsports afpr. It's really nice and holds it's pressure well without any problems.

RE: Tunning Question

If you're going to get that stuff, get all of it first, and install it at the same time. Have your ECU reflashed while you do the work. Make sure to talk to the tuning companies and let them know what your new turbo, injectors, etc are, so you can get the right programming. With these cars, piggybacking the tuning most likely is gonna result in less-than-ideal driveability. You'll certainly be able to, but by reflashing the ECU, you'll have the right base tune in there, which you can then dial in and fine-tune with the AFC and other parts. Don't skimp on the ECU though - for one thing, you'll want precise control of the injectors when you upgrade them, and the AFC won't give you precise enough control of them. The ECU is the key to pulling it all together.

RE: Tunning Question

if your getting a new turbo and injectors, why wouldn't you get software? the correct injectors and fpr (you'll want to get an adjustable one) will be decided by what tune you get. with that turbo it'll most likely be an aggressive k04 file tweaked with lemmi

RE: Tunning Question

I don't want a computer re-flash because I have access to a dyno for my own tunning, thats why I would like your guys input. I highly beleive in after market add-ons. A ECU flash is for sorta-tuners that don't have the time or patiance for it, granted it would be a kinda nice baseline. I already run after market boost controller that is set up different than a flashed ECU will be able to handle. So....back to the original question?

RE: Tunning Question

I'm also guessing that none of you have tried a piggyback tune on these cars? Something like a Greddy E-Manage?

RE: Tunning Question

Idk but no one has piggy backs. If they work on our cars I would reccomend a SAFC, very common in the dsm world.
