underhood light?
this might be an obvious question but i think there is a light for under the hood i guess mine is out. i bought bulbs to replace but i cant seem to find it. somebodyhelp me out thanks by the way it a 1998 a4 2.8
It'd be easy enough to rig one up using a microswitch. Mount some small wide-beam LEDs wherever you want them, and ground all of them. Run power from the battery to a switch, and from the switch to the LEDs. Set the switch up so that when the hood is closed, it presses the switch down (use a normally closed switch, so when it's pressed, the switch opens and the circuit is broken). When the hood is opened, the switch closes and turns on the lights. Or even easier, just put a toggle switch under the hood to turn them on. I've been debating doing this and I think I'm going to look into it. I had an underhood light on a car years ago and loved it (it was a Pontiac Grand Prix and it broke even more than any Audi does).

Can do. I work right around the corner from Unicorn Electronics. I can pick up some switches and distribution rails there and we can get the LEDs and hook it up. Maybe next weekend? If you want, come on over then (I'll touch base with you in the meantime) and we can go at it and get it done on both cars. If we can drag Hiwords away from his Nintendo, we can set him up too

Heheh, no doubt - tell you what - I'll go to Unicorn after work and pick up what's needed, so you don't melt your credit card. I'm more able to restrain myself there (maybe because I work with electronics every day). I'll get the stuff and we can get the whole thing put together. Sounds great on the tint - I want to do that soon as well...and paint my lowers, and install the S4 springs, and get RS4 mirror housings, etc
Service position is pretty easy - I think that now that we've done Keith's car, the next one won't take more than 30-40 minutes to be ready to go.
How're you making out with Stratmosphere?
