After my experience with the 409.1 cable I would say stay the hell away. I bought mine from a local vendor and it didn't work, even with a fresh install of XP, every driver and software combination imaginable, fiddling with port settings and 3 different cables I had no luck. I decided to step up to the 908.1 cable and it was literally plug&play, plus the cable itself is much higher quality and the cord's longer so it's more convenient. For the extra $20something I paid it's more than worth it.
