I went to a local auto shop to read some codes because the CEL turned on. It turned out that the vag-com was not able to connect to the car computer, so i was not able to find out why the CEL is on. Any ideas on why the vag-com cant connect to the cars computer?

 

Maybe the cigarette lighter or radio fuses are blown. I think one of them controls the OBD2 port on your car. It would be a good idea to check for any other blown fuses too.

 

1- do you have an aftermarket radio?

2- is the VAG cable not connecting to the computer? or the computer not connecting to the car?

3- what car, computer, version of vagcom, etc do you have?
