After replacing a cam tensioner on a 2001 1.8 its creating a tapping

oil addative was used and the car sat for about a month before running again


the tensioner wasn't replaced at top dead center the car was taken apart before the proper prep was done.

I told the owner to change the oil and since the tapping has gotten quieter any ideas besides a bad cam lobe?
