Anybody know the OEM manufacturer of the water pump for a 98 2.8 30v AHA -- is it Graf?

I've ordered the blauparts timing belt kit, but it comes with an Italian-made Saleri water pump and I'd like to upgrade to the OEM unit.

Any comments on the reliability of Saleri water pumps?

 

On their website Blauparts suggests that spent a lot of time researching/testing their water pump selection. It's been a while since I last looked into it but if I recall correctly they state that their pump should exceed OEM in terms of quality.

So if I may ask, why would you like to "upgrade" to OEM?

 

I'm probably overreacting, but several people on the A6 forum had issues with Blauparts timing belt kit water pumps failing after ~12 months and strongly recommended upgrading.

 

I believe that blauparts has since updated their kit to include a "better than" OEM waterpump
