Default whats the deal with ST coils?

went to waterfest with the intention of trying to score some coils and get off my springs, i didnt want to go the cheap route and get a bad ride, i had done some research online and what not, i was leaning toward getting h&r coils had even thought about ultra lows but im sure the street would drop it enough. anyways before i went to any vendors i searched for some b5s that were dropped and peeked behind the wheels and the ones i checked out were all on ST suspentions, which i thought was weird cause i had never heard of them, but i liked how low they were sitting, which was pretty low, so i found a vendor they told me they were made by KW and were basically a v1 so i liked that but when they told me they were like 800 dollars i became skeptical only because normally the ride quality will become worse as price comes down. so just wondering if anyone knows anything else about them. are they adjustable front and back? hows the ride? anyone have any pictures of ride heights anything at all would be a help so thanks guys.

The ST's are what I'd call budget coils. So far I have heard nothing but good reviews about them. I know they are only height adjustable (front and back) and that's about it.

NickBroderick runs them. Maybe he'll chime in as he has first hand experience with these coils.

And Ultralows FTW!

i was actually just about to edit this, i figured they were "budget coils" but KW makes some nice stuff from what i have read the only difference is between the v1 and st is a stainless vs. galvanized bodies which is fine with me i just dont want it to be a bouncy terrible ride. what can you tell me about the ultralows? its between these three i would just like to know as much as possible about them before i drop 800-1300...anyone who knows anything chime in.

and if anyone has any pictures of either of the three coils mentioned please post them especially the ultralows i'd like to see how low they can run.

Go with ultra lows. My ST's are pretty bouncy. I was thinking of throwing some H&R springs on it to see what that would do.

for every good review ive heard about these coils i have heard an equal amount of bad things. the version that kw sells now that retailers have now come with helper springs. which have caused a few issues. the older "better" versions most people claim to be perfect are the ones without helper springs. go on vwvortex for more info.

I was about 1/3 down when the coilovers came in and got installed. I had about 4 finger gaps from my tires to fenders.

Sup.

Buy the ST's.

Or don't.

I dailied with them 9 threads from the bottom in the front and maxed out in the rear with no helper springs (newer version, took them out). The only thing people would complain about in my car was when I smacked **** on the ground, not the ride quality, which is saying a lot.

Sorry for the **** picture.

Did it ride better without the helpers? I get some serious bounce going.

Serious bounce most likely means you left your stock bumpstops in.

I removed the helpers before I realized that my "serious bounce" issue the stock bumpstops and not the helper spring or anything like that, so I have no idea how they ride with them in.

I'd buy these coilovers again.
