Whats going on?
Ok, I am having trouble with my car and was wondering if anyone had any indeas. Now, I had my car in for repair at a very well respected Euro shop in town just before christmass. They took care of alot of things that were wrong. They replaced the combi valve, some hoses, both washer pumps, and some other things. Well, the dealer sent them the wrong part, but told me that I could pick the car up if I needed for the weekend. They had done the washer pump. Emediatly after leaving the shop, I could tell something was wrong, there was this weird sound that I hadn't heard before. So I turn around and as I'm pulling into the parking lot, my front drivers side wheel falls off! The tech hadn't torqued the bolts after doing the washer pump. They had to replace my front fender and they fired the tech responsible. So, while I was waiting for the fender repair, I was driving it for a while. My car started to sputter at stop lights, something it hadn't done before. One of the first things they said to me when I took the car in originally was that the plugs were fouled and were loose. But they had put new plugs in it a year before when they replaced my timing belt and a ignition coil. So a little while after I got the car back, I put in new plugs (NGK iriduim). About a month ago, my car sputtered on me a few times. I pulled the plugs and rechecked the gap. They were fine. And my car ran fine until today, when I was sitting a light and it sputted and stalled. It started back up luckily. Anyone have any ideas? Is it the plugs? Could it be the fuel filter (don't know when was last done and have 100K). And Friday night, I noticed that I had a puddle of washer fluid under the washer bottle. When I got down to look, I saw my belly pan was gone! I am 90% sure it was there in December when it went into the shop. I called them about it yesterday (the leak and pan), and they said to bring it in and look at it to see if it was something they did. Well, sorry for taking up all your time.
Well, the timing belt was over a year ago. And as mad as I was, I understand that the wheel was just a carless mistake. Luckily I was driving slow when it happened, and wasn't on the highway, which was where I was heading. They took care of the damage, but they still tried to charge me full price for the rest of the repairs.
Unfortuatly i have no clue what is wrong with you car---However that is very unprofessional that they would forget to tighten your wheel. I would have asked for, not demanded that everything be free for a careless like that.
