What all would I need on a top end build. My friends dad would help me on it just wanna know how much money I should plan on

 

Ive got an annoying *** valve tick that I want gone

 

Are you rebuilding to stock specs or upgrading?

 

Well upgrade if it's not too much more

 

And if it will REALLY make a difference

 

upgrading the head will make a difference, it will cost a lot more and isn't that ideal just to slap a built head on a car. Need to tune your car to your heads specifications but a rebuild wouldn't cost much but you don't need a full rebuild for a valve tick. You may have an oil problem causing the tick or just a bad lifter, you can check clearance on all the lifters to get a better idea of what your dealing with.

 

^Exactly why I was asking, bones. OP, could you take a video of the tick? Exactly where is it coming from on the engine?

 

Ya I get off work at 3 and I can. I only hear it when I'm on the gas and if I'm at constant speed it quiets sown to the point where I can't hear it. But as soon as a speed up I can.

 

 

That first tick is new I think something is just loose over there but I had no one to press on the gas so it's hard to hear the tick I'm actually wanting gone
