Window Regulator Clips
I was told by the seller the reason my front passenger window (that he zip tied to prevent from rolling down) wouldn't go down, was the clips. I just bought some and after removing door panel and zip ties, I really dont want to have to remove the rest of the assembly if possible. Do I have to? They dont just snap on? I dont have a torque wrench either so....Any help or info would be appreciated

Oh yea..
Its a 99 A4 Quattro

It's doable with the regulator in place as long as you can move the window up and down; I did the first window taking it out, the second one I left in place. Either way is a PITA, if you leave the regulator you're gonna be fiddling with the clips for a long time, if you take it out you'll have to align the window frame afterwards.
You have to remove the 4 torx bolts on the sides on the door after moving all the wiring out of the way. Have a piece of foam to sit the assembly on so you don't break the glass (which should be rolled all the way down). From there break the old clip on being careful not to cut the steel wire and snap the clip on (takes a bit of convincing but definitely doable). It's really not a bad job at all, it just takes awhile. While you are in make sure you replace both clips as they do break
I misread about the torque wrench and see its TORX now, but was hoping it would be a quick fix. Its too late now, getting dark and no garage, so I'll resume tomorrow. I guess Ill go ahead and remove everything after rolling it down. Both clips are broke so I have to replace both. Now, do they just snap onto track and stay at the bottom? Or is there more to it? The only instructions I have found dont really specify, they are mostly for replacing the whole regulator.
Follow the instructions for replacing the regulator until it gets to the point where it tells you to remove it from the metal frame. They snap on with a bit of convincing, I got it lined up and used a pair of wide pliers to very carefully get the "knot" into the hole. Basically just take off the old ones however you can, then snap on the new ones. Make sure you remove the glass as it is impossible (or close to it) to do it with it still on
