I'm just wondering what kind of gas mileage people are getting with their 1.8t's (or even with the 2.8) I'm rather disappointed with my mileage, I average right around 20mpg with my 99.5 quattro, its totally stock and I am not at all a lead foot driver. I've tried it with both regular and premium gas and don't see a difference in mileage. I'm sure that the quattro system probably gets a little bit worse mileage than the fwd, but wouldn't you think that a smaller car with a little 4 cylinder motor should do better than 20 mpg-heck my brother gets about 16mpg with his 400hp Escalade!

On average mixed I get 29.6, pure highway I get between 32-33 depending on climate/slope.

City? 26.

01 1.8t QTM Avant, almost always loaded down with tools, too.
