Default wont start

I have an 01 a4 2.8 Quattro. Went on vacation for Xmas was gone for a week. Came back and started car and ran just fine ...next day wouldn't start. Turns over...get a little sputter but no Fire. Tried jumpstart...added gas...sprayed starter fluid in airbox nothing. All electronics work. Weather Been below freezing pretty steady thought may be froze up but waited a week for nicer weather and wouldn't start in 50 degree temps. Recently heater wouldn't work...mechanic said oil cooler dumped oil in cooling system had to have flushed 3 times so thought had bad mix of antifreeze not sure. Anybody got any ideas?

Sorry to say but there's not much we can do without you posting codes for your car. There could be any number of things that would cause it to not start, and without scanning it with Vag-com, there's not much anyone can do.

Only advice I can add is to make sure that you are trying to start the car with the main Audi key which has the remote on it. I had inconsistent intermittent results trying to start a car with a copied cut.

You're the second one this month to have an oil cooler freeze up and push oil into the water, but that wouldn't keep your car from starting.

Engine turns over whne cranked, correct?
Can you hear the fuel pump turn on when the key is placed in the run position? If not have you checked fuel pressure at the rail?
Engine has spark?
Does (did) the temperature gauge on the dash show the car was heating up as it ran, and did the needle sit straight up and down when it was at operating temp? If not try replacing the temperature sender, as that will keep the car from starting and it won't throw a code. Can you start the car by holding the throttle open or by pumping the gas pedal as it cranks? Thats a bad temp sender if so.

Did you find anything out about this? Mine just started doing this but it's not throwing any codes...
