the bogging down.. mine does this also from time to time.. and from what ive dug up under the hood is it seems like the AC compressor kicks on and off alll the time even if you have the heat up on high (yea i know makes no sence) but everytime it kicks on it boggs down a lil bit a great way to see if its the same thing happening to you. start your car let it warm up and either put it in N if your a 5speed like me or just keep it in park.. and rev the car up let the RPMs drop back down and wait for a clicking noise and then your RPMS should drop a lil and then come back. every time you rev up it should do it.. mine does.. oh and this is with your heat on put it around like 70-75ish thats usually where mine is.. i live in maryland about 45 min from nottingham PA so if you need any help or anything ill be glad to help..

Hit the "ECON" button, turns the A/C off when you don't want/ need it. A/Cs not only cool air, but dehumidify the air as well, which helps with defrosting windows and such...

Seafoam can also degrade the electrodes on the spark plugs. I usually change the plugs shortly after seafoam treatments.

[QUOTE=MetalMan;1282234]AIRBAG light is likely a loose connector under the seat. This is one idea:
http://www.ozaudi.com/forums/showthread.php?t=22255
Many people including myself have simply wrapped a zip tie around the airbag connectors (they are yellow) under the passenger and driver seats, and cleared the fault code to get the light to go away. You won't know which airbag is causing the fault unless you scan with a VAG-COM though (which you'll also need to clear the fault code).
[QUOTE]

There is a TSB to fix this. It's the only thing that works. If it doesn't, try it again. If that fails, you'll need an airbag.

Not sure how necessary it is to go through all that, I haven't read of anyone here who didn't have success with the zip tie fix. Though if it can be determined the airbag is good and the connector bad then that would be the next step. I imagine it wouldn't be too easy to know if your airbag is good considering some of them are 14 years old (1997 models).

As for ABS, honestly I don't care. I would if I wanted to sell the car but in the meantime I like sliding lol. Airbag light is going to be tackled sometime this weekend, I hope its simply some loose wires.
Another update, I ran seafoam through the fuel, the "*** Dyno" seems to be alright and at the time I was running 93 octane. Today I fueled her up with 91 octane I think, it was midgrade? Added 1/3 of seafoam to crankcase went home (1/2 mile) parked in driveway and the RPM's were bouncing from 300 to 1000, felt like she was stalling so I slightly pressed on the peddle and all was fine. First thing I thought was I got carbon stuck in one of the lifters. Said F*** it, I need to do some errands, drove 12 miles, all seemed fine.

Anyone else getting tons of snow? I live in PA and its really crappy out here! I was hoping to degrease more of my engine and underneath but f*** that.

EDIT: I know I am a noobie but I am going to change my oil here really soon, I at least want to put 25 miles on her before I change it out.
Don't forget the seafoam in the vacuum line on the intake mani too...

If it passes the airbag diagnostic self-test, it's good. Only other way to test it is to ignite it Plenty of 20 year old airbags on the road ignite as designed when in an accident. A similar TSB was used for Porsche, Audi, & VW models late 1990'2 thru about 2005. It's really the only wat to cure it, but it sucks if the seat ever has to come completely out.

P0441
EVAP Emission Contr.Sys.Incorrect Purge Flow

P0442
EVAP Emission Contr.Sys.(Small Leak) Leak Detected

What this means is you have a leak in the EVAP system. Most common cause of P0441 is a vacuum leak, however, a vacuum line leak can cause both codes. If you cant find anything obvious, my suggestion is to erase the DTCs and drive the car. If the light doesn't come back on, don't worry about it. If it does, start checking th EVAP purge valve (N80 valve on top of the airbox) and the surrounding lines and check valves.
