007 Diverter valve?
I upgraded my stock DV valve not too long ago to the bosch DV valve from neuspeed but i dont get any *whoosh* sound at all anymore. i have a K&N air filter installed aswell. I was thinking of replacing the DV valve with the 007 DV valve do you think itd make a *whoosh* sound at all or would it be a waste of money?
When I've installed the forge 007 on my 1.8t on the passat, there was no woosh. You'll need an aftermarket intake(or homemade) for that. And stock the woosh is barely audible, a little be more wooshy when the engine is chipped though but nothing like a BOV if thats what you were thinking at first.
The stock air box acts like a silencer. If you want to hear your BPV you will have to remove the stock air box and run a cone filter or run a hybrid BPV/BOV that lets some of the air out to atmosphere.
Have you tried to remove all the silence deadner out of your airbox? That will actually increase airflow and help you achieve the woosh. I think the forge splitter is the only dv that is a hybrid meaning some can be vented to atmosphere and the rest can be recirculated like mike said!

The GFB hybrid and the Forge Splitter are non adjustable when it comes to changing the % that is BOV and BPV. It is either both or 1 of the 2.
TurboSmart also has a hybrid called the Kompact dual port.

everything else stock on the engine?
I was looking into modding the airbox but i read that sometimes you can get errors from it and i didnt want to be getting non stop errors from it.
are there any DIYs on how to remove the silence deadner?
this morning when i went to go look in my airbox, i saw that one of my foglights has lots of condensation in it i was curious is this bad? im about to put hid foglights in but i dont want to put them in if its going to get wet and blow. it rained yesturday pretty hard for the first time in months
if u can remove the air box completly out of the car taking out the silence foam is no big deal. Basically as long as u dont snap any hoses u will be okay. I have never heard of anyone receiving any error codes from doing this either? Unless u oversoak your K&N and ruin your maf. I think there might be a thread on audizne reguarding the air box. As for your fog light. Probably the o ring not sealing up properly. When u change ur hids see if u can replace that o ring?
ill have to take a look on audizine for it, thank you. i took a look at it and i couldnt see much, couldnt really get the fog light out of there the cables are so tight doesnt let me move it much. when i get my hids though ill take a better look at it, hope its just the o ring to replace, luckily it doesnt rain that much in so cal. if its not the o ring would putting silicone around the plastic part of the fog light where the lense is help a little bit?
