03 3.0 Quattro Stalls once at startup? Then starts fine
So for the first and second time my car has stalled at startup. I know it isn't me letting go of the key to quickly. It has never happened before but has now happened twice in the last 24 hours so I feel something is beginning to take shape.
Any ideas as to what might cause this behavior? It starts then stalls right away. Then starts just fine.
I haven't checked for codes yet and can't afford another dealer cost just for walking in the door and finding nothing. Just wondering if this is common fault.

I also have a 03 A4 3.0 6Sp Quattro
I has been doing this for the last 50K miles.. hahah Every 6 months maybe for a couple times, a few times in a week, then nothing more another 10K miles..
Had a few misfire cells, people here think it was the cats maybe going bad... the dealership mechanic told me he doesn;t think it was the cats causing the cel...
Last week and with 120K miles on the car, the car started running like crap... no power... felt like it was running on less cylinders.. I discovered one plug was bad to I am replacing all of them along with new spark plugs.
I would not worry about the hesitation at startup even though it can be embarassing if you are parket next to a 911 turbo that starts up right away :P
Just make sure your service is up to date.. It seems electrical to say the least. If you worry about it too much, change your plugs and coils and see if it does it again. I would not worry about it since on my car it never left me stranded. It seemed like if I kept the revs high it would stay running.
