Default 04 A4 B6 Cooling Fans Not Working

2004 Audi A4 B6 cooling fans not working, I replaced the fan control module, and both top and bottom cooling temp sensors. Checked all the fuses and they are good. Car starts to heat up once its at a stops for a while. The fans do not kick on at either speeds or with the ac on. They spin freely but never kick on at all. Confused!! Please Help!!!

If you have VAG-COM (registered with output tests enabled) the fans can be checked from your computer. How about when AC is on, does either fan run then?

No access to a VAG-COM, with the ac turned on it still doesn't turn on either fan

When you need to do some diagnostics, there is no shame in breaking out a test light or multimeter! I had to to alot of diagnostics for years the "old fashioned way" before I had access to a VAG-COM. I had cooling fan problems in my 2002 Audi A4 (also a B6) and the problem I had was that the motors were just dead. When one dies, unless it is really hot and you idle alot, the other can normally pick up the load. when both are dead, you start to notice things getting toasty. Just for the hell of it, take it down to an autozone or advance auto parts or something like that (not sure where you are located, but a large auto parts store chain) they may offer free diagnostic tests. Sure its not a VAG-COM, but it still tells you basic stuff, and is better than nothing to start from. If that doesn't seem to narrow it down, disconnect the fans from the control module and check the plug to see if the fans are being sent voltage. if they are, the motors are dead, if they are not, then something else is the culprit. Give it a try and come back if that doesn't help!
Best of luck,
-Chris
