Default 05 A4 B6 Stalling

I was driving my A4 today and stopped at a stop light. When the light turned green, the car had stalled and the lone indicator was a red battery light. I put the car in neutral and it started right back up and I was able to drive it home. I've already replaced the battery and I had the alternator tested and it came back fine.

I couldn't get any codes and I REALLY don't want to take it to the dealer, but I'll do it if I have to. Anyone have any ideas on what could be causing my car to stall?

im assuming that you have an automatic and not a manual, cuz otherwise it could just be bad driving ... in which case im not sure what would cause it to do that

Definitely an automatic. It's really weird. My girlfriend had it happen to her first and I didn't believe her. Then it happened to me. The manual says when that light comes on it could be: drive belt, generator, battery change.

Does that mean I missed something when I changed the battery? The connections are good and tight on it.

It ended up being the Engine Speed Sensor. Dealer took care of it within an hour.
