Default 1.8t coil pack replacement.

I was wondering if anyone has replaced the coil pack harness on a 1.8T. I got my harness from ECS (1J0971658L) and i see its the same harness that at VW 1.8t uses. My question is are all of the wires used? I removed the ECM and found the the required pins but there is one pin that has thrown me off which is pin "7", which isnt even used on the ECM. Are all of the pins used for this harness on the audi's? The manual shows the required pins for the coil pack but no where can i find pin 7. any help?

I cant answer the question above BUT.
For anyone that has been loosing power during acceleration or just regular driving conditions....Read On.

I took my 2003 1.8T Q to Autozone to read the Check Engine light Code.
They plugged into the CAN bus and read the codes. Missfire on cyl 1.
First I replaced only Coil Pack 1, to verify the issue. Then I Drove like a bat out of Hell to test it, and It resolved the problem. so where there's smoke there's fire or quite a bit of heat in this case so I replaced all for packs and plugs. Why not make it a complete job!

Runs great and the Check Engine light went off too!!

Good luck with the ECS unit. they look good.

The ecs harness didn't work for me as is on my b6 a4. On the factory harness there are 4 common grounds and 4 common power wires from the ecu. On the ecs unit, the common ground/power wires are all combined/splices together. I would say the wires are also one gauge smaller than the factory wires.
I ponied up and did the 034 harness. looks good and comes with the rubber booties. It's pretty simple if you get the factory harness up top. Only thing I could say.. smaller gauge wire as well. But that hasn't shown to be an issue though.

Sorry to nitpick here, but your 2003 has an OBD-II connector, not a CAN bus. The CAN bus wasn' introduced until the B7 generation. I just didn't want someone to read that and then order the wrong adapter cable from Ross-Tech.
