1.8t ticking under load.
Hi all,
I'm new to the forum but I've had a good look around and can't find a similar problem anywhere.
My car is an 04 S-Line quattro Avant 190.
The problem I have is when I put my foot down I get a ticking/clicking sound from somewhere under the bonnet.
It starts at around 2000rpm and stays till 3500ish.
It's not particularly loud but loud enough to be noticed when the AC is low and the stereo is off.
The car had the TB, water pump and tensioner replaced 4k ago. I also had the oil pick up replaced as a precaution at the same time.
The car has no noticeable unusual noise at idle, no CEL and pulls well.
I've read about noisy cam chain tensioners but every one I've read about seem to be noticed at idle, my idle is smooth.
Any suggestions would be great, it's driving me nuts! !
