Default 1.8T Whine After Shutdown

m on.my first Quattro and need a little guidance as far as what sounds are normal. I currently drive an 02 VW GTI 337 1.8T. It cuts perfect when.I pull the key. On my new Audi, it whines down from a.medium pitch when.I pull the key. Is this normal? What is the whining coming from?

A/C isn't turned on up here in Wisconsin after September. I figured it might be some kind of differential wind-down or something but it's pretty noticeable.

Mine does the same thing, I have an 05' 1.8t qt, it also did it on my 03' 1.8t cvt, so I thought it was normal. It usually won't do it when I let the car idle for a few minutes before shutting it off.

This is really weird because my VW just cuts when the key is turned off. Same engine as far as block and turbo. I figured it had to do with the Auto Transmission or something. Still would be good to know where it's coming from.

It's your fan. My B6 does it as well, it's completely normal.

I removed the flux capacitor in light of how popular SNOW has been getting. I figgured, if my flux is unstable and won't send me to the right destination all the time, why not blow the **** up with Methonal.

agreed. on mine the cooling fan is more noticeable than the a/c fan or the climate control fan.
